General Counsel: Digital Transformation Tools Supporting the Legal Function.

On September 18, 2025, the second day of the Annual General Counsel and In-house Lawyers conference, organized by Paradigma, took place. The session was dedicated to “Digital Transformation Tools Supporting the Legal Function”.
During the event, Avv. Alessandro Del Ninno, Partner at FIVERS Studio Legale e Tributario, delivered a presentation focused on data protection and cybersecurity issues in legal digital transformation projects.
The presentation covered:
Privacy by Design and by Default in the digitalization of legal services;
the role of the General Counsel in DPIAs and supplier assessments;
“GDPR-compliant” contractual clauses and transfer impact assessments in ICT and international cloud projects;
definition of appropriate technical and organizational measures under Art. 32 GDPR and the GC’s responsibility in the digital supply chain;
management of non-personal data as a corporate information asset;
governance of innovative projects, including internal committees, accountability, and training.
The intervention highlighted how the General Counsel today plays a central role not only in regulatory compliance but also in the strategic management of digital risks and the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence solutions within legal processes.
