Electronic document, electronic signatures, and digital identity: the data protection implications.

In this lecture, Prof. Avv. Alessandro del Ninno discussed the relationship between the Digital Administration Code ("CAD") and the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), analyzing the data protection aspects implied by the use of electronic documents, electronic signatures and digital identities in light not only of the concept of "personal data" but of the broader concept of "data" (as "any digital representation of acts, facts or information and any collection of such acts, facts or information, including in the form of a sound, visual or audiovisual recording") as a pillar of the EU's so-called Digital Decade 2020-2030.
