Tik Tok and the minors' age verification matter by means of AI solutions. Interview to Prof. Avv. Alessandro del Ninno.

In the article signed by Luigi Garofalo, published in the online editorial magazine Key4Biz, Prof. Avv. Alessandro del Ninno was interviewed about the Tik Tok affair and the proposal of the Chinese social platform to evaluate the application of Artificial Intelligence solutions to identify the accounts of under-thirteen-year-old minors, based on the profiling of online activities on Tik Tok of all users. In the interview, all the data protection criticalities regarding age verification solutions are highlighted, both from the point of view of the applicable legislation and from the point of view of the proportionality of the data processing.
