The Council of Ministers adopts the new Regulation on the Public Register for Opt-out.
The reform of the public register of oppositions to wild telemarketing has been approved by the Council of Ministers, which simplifies the procedures that allow citizens to oppose promotional calls or the sending of unwanted advertising material, extending its application to mobile phones as well as to fixed telephone numbers and paper mail.
This is a public and free service for all citizens who, once registered in the register lists, will no longer be able to be contacted by the telemarketing operator, unless the latter has obtained specific consent to use the data after the date. of registration or under an existing or terminated contract for no more than thirty days.
The provision, which adopted the opinions and observations expressed by all the institutions and administrations involved during its legislative process, will become operational with a decree of the President of the Republic and subsequent publication in the Official Journal. Subsequently, the Ministry of Economic Development will also launch an information campaign aimed at all citizens to make known the procedures for activating the tool.
