New anti-piracy law no. 93/2023 to combat online audio-video and publishing piracy in force.

Fines of 1,000 to 5,000 euro for users of illegal viewing of copyright protected contents. Three years imprisonment and 15,000 euro fine for those who broadcast copyright protected content such as football matches, shows and make available protected newspapers and editorial content. Strengthened powers of urgent intervention (within 30 minutes) attriobuted to the National Communication Agency - AGCOM.

These are some of the novelties contained in the law definitively approved by the Senate to combat the illegal online distribution of content that is generally protected by copyright and the illegal viewing of programmes offered by the main digital platforms.
