Data Governance Act becomes applicable.
On September 24, 2023, the Data Governance Act (DGA) became applicable in full, following its entry into force on June 23, 2022.

- regulates the re-use of certain categories of protected data (such as personal data and commercially confidential data) held by public sector bodies;
- establishes requirements applicable to data intermediation services, which function as neutral third parties that connect individuals and companies with data users;
- creates trusted tools to enable data altruism;
- provides for the creation of a European Data Innovation Board by the European Commission, which will consist of representatives from various authorities, including the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA); and
- lays down rules for international transfers of non-personal data.
