EDPB: new Guidelines 1/2021 on Data Breach.
What to do in case of ransomware attacks, data exfiltration, loss or theft of devices and paper documents? This and other questions are answered by the EDPB Guidelines 1/2021 on Data Breach, which help companies and public administrations to properly address data breaches and define risk management processes.
The Guidelines, approved at the plenary meeting on January 14th, are based on the analysis of the most significant cases of data breach - faced by the national privacy guarantors, including the Italian one - suffered by banks , hospitals, medium-sized enterprises, municipalities, companies that offer various types of online services.
The Edpb has launched a public consultation on the document for a period of six weeks (until March 2, 2021).
