European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO): DesignView becomes the world’s largest image search engine for designs.

EUIPO—the European Union Intellectual Property Office—has announced that DesignView’s industrial design image-search functionality has been rolled out across all connected European and international intellectual property offices, making it the world’s largest search engine for industrial design images.

With the addition of images from 44 IP offices outside the European Union—covering Africa, Asia, the Americas and Oceania—DesignView’s image-search feature now includes data from 76 IP offices. This brings the total number of searchable images to over 111 million—an almost eightfold increase—enabling users to search and compare industrial design images from all participating IP offices.

DesignView is a free, multilingual online information tool that allows users to search, view and compare industrial designs from participating IP offices worldwide on a single platform. Available 24/7, it enables businesses, designers and examiners to review existing designs, assess novelty, monitor market trends and track updates on registered designs.
