EU Directive NIS 2 on cybersecurity definitively approved.
The Council of the European Union announced that it had adopted the Directive on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union, repealing Directive (EU) 2016/1148 ('NIS2 Directive'), following the European Parliament's approval on 10 November 2022.
In particular, the NIS2 Directive, which will replace the Directive on Security Network and Information Systems (Directive (EU) 2016/1148) ('the NIS Directive'), will be published in the Official Journal of the EU in the coming days, and will enter into force on the 20th day following the publication.
Thereafter, Member States will have 21 months from the entry into force of the NIS2 Directive to incorporate its provisions into their national law.
