Italian Council of Ministers: legislative decree for the implementation of the EU Directive to protect whistleblowers.

With the legislative decree to implement Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 23, 2019, a framework for the protection of EU whistleblowers is introduced through minimum protection standards aimed at unifying national regulations. The purpose of the rules is to strengthen the principles of transparency and accountability and to prevent the commission of crimes.
 
The scope is limited to violations of EU law in the areas specifically mentioned (including: public procurement, financial services, product and transport safety, environment, food, public health, privacy, network and information system security, and competition).

There is also no differentiation between the public and private sectors.
