The GDPR as a prerequisite and presidium of the AI Act.

The paper focuses on what specific relationships exist between the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the proposed EU General Regulation on Artificial Intelligence, with a view to making people understand how personal data - the prerequisite and inescapable "fuel" of machine learning - can also constitute a safeguard (in terms of quality and completeness but also in terms of a discipline, that of the GDPR that stands as a defense of fundamental rights and freedoms) of ethics and anthropocentrism of AI.
